Tournament Rules
Tournament Format
Team
Team Size: 6-12 players (Up to 15 players will be allowed but additional medals will not be allocated)
- A libero may be included as one of the players if there are 7-12 players. This player may not change during the game unless one of the other 6 are injured and cannot continue. A different coloured top must be worn.
- Players may not participate for any other team within or between age groups.
- Players cannot play for younger age groups but can play for older age groups.
- Shirt numbers are required for u19 teams. Numbers may not be repeated in a team.
Additional notes
- Only Captains or coaches may approach their referee to challenge any calls made.
- Overly disruptive, rude, and/or disrespectful players or coaches may be removed from the playing area.

- If multiple coaches agree that a referee may be biased or making incorrect and impactful calls, they may be replaced by an agreed upon alternative.

- Referees will not be provided. Either of the two competing teams are to ensure a referee is provided for the game.
- Issues need to be brought up immediately and not after the game as games will not be replayed.
For umpires to keep in mind
- No warmup may happen on court before or after a match.
- Match start times need to follow the given fixtures unless both teams are ready to begin early.
- Teams more than 5 minutes late forfeit the game. This is according to the original fixture time.
Conditions leading to forfeits:
The following will result in a forfeit:
- Failure to arrive within 5 minutes of starting time (unless preoccupied playing another official game)
- Failure to produce enough players (minimum 6 players).
- Failure to follow age restrictions or player exclusivity among teams.
(Waiting teams must have their starting 6 lined up on the base line ready for captains to toss and teams to play)
The default winner will get 3 points for the win with a score of 15:0
Game Structure
Pool games and quarter finals:
- Allotted time: 30 minutes (No warmup time given)
- Best of 1 set, capped at 21 points. Only 1 Timeout allowed.
Boys U15 Tournament
- Allotted time: 20 minutes (No warmup time given)
- Best of 1 set, capped at 15 points. Only 1 Timeout allowed.
Semi Finals:
- Allotted time: 1 hour (No warmup time given)
- Best of 3 sets, capped at 21 points. Only 1 Timeout allowed.
Finals:
- Allotted time: 1 hour (No warmup time given).
- Best of 3 sets to 21 points, capped at 25; third set to 15, capped at 20. Only 1 Timeout allowed.
Score Sheet Procedure
- The teams playing have already been entered (please do not make changes – ask if you believe there is an issue)
- The team playing on the left side is Team A and the team playing on the right is Team B.
- Circle which team is receiving (R) and which team is serving (S)
- If a time out is called, cross off the 1 or 2 to indicate they have called a timeout. (Only 1 timeout in pool games)
- Circle the final score for each team clearly and reject points that weren’t achieved.
- Write the winner at the bottom of the score sheet.
- Both Captains must look at the score/winner first and then sign the score sheet to confirm that it’s correct.
- Captain/vice captain of the winning team must take the score sheet to the tech table after both teams finish signing.

Qualification Conditions
Teams will earn 3 pool points for winning their set and no points for losing their set.
Teams that qualify will be determined by:
- Primary consideration: Number of pool points earned
- Secondary consideration: Average score difference
- Tertiary consideration: Total number of points scored.
Prizegiving
- Time: 16:00-17:00 (After the U19 Boys and Girls finals).
- 1st to 3rd will be awarded at the A Field. The rest may go home after their last game or stay to support.
- Teams to come and sit down in front of the stands in a neat line.
- Adults, Parents and staff are to use the grandstand / seating provided.
