Admissions
- Compulsory School Attendance: South African law (Schools Act of 1996) mandates that all children aged 7 to 15 attend school. Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring their children are enrolled and attend regularly.
- School Registration: To register your child for the following school year, please do so between April and October when the Gauteng Department of Education releases the dates for application. Priority placement is given to children living closest to the school within its designated feeder zone.
Admission Criteria to Fourways High School
Admissions are based on the criteria as set by the Gauteng Department of Education.
Admissions Regulation 2019 as Amended provides the preference order of Admissions as:
- The applicant learner’s place of residence is closest to the school within the feeder zone;
- The applicant learner has a sibling attending the school;
- The place of employment of at least one of the applicant learner’s parents is within the feeder zone of the school;
- The applicant learner’s place of residence is within a 30-kilometre radius of the school; or
- The applicant learner’s place of residence is beyond a 30-kilometre radius of the school

Feeder Zone
Grade 8 Admissions 2027
Admissions for Grade 8 2027 are handled via online applications through the GDE at https://www.gdeadmissions.gov.za. The Gauteng Department of Education will announce the admissions period in the media.
Grades 9-11 Admissions
Online applications for Grades 9-11 (2027) at Fourways High School will open in the second half of this year.
You can apply directly on our website by using the link below.
After you submit your online application, you’ll need to print, sign, and bring it to the school along with certified copies of all your supporting documents.
Applications will be reviewed in late November 2026, and you’ll receive feedback starting in mid-November.

- Parent/Guardian ID or Passport
- Valid Proof of Home/ Parent Work address
- COJ/Eskom account if homeowner
- Certified copy of lease agreement if renting
- Grade 7 report card
- Proof of guardianship if a guardian
Non South-African Citizens:
- Passport OR
- Permanent Residence Permit OR
- Asylum Seeker Permit OR
- Refugee Permit OR
- Study Permit OR
- Parent Work Permit

The Grade 8 Admissions Process
Opening of applications
The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) will announce the Grade 8 online application dates through the media. Fourways High will also share these dates on our website and social media platforms.
Get Your Documents Ready
Before applications open, please ensure you have certified copies of all required documents ready. These are essential for your application to be processed smoothly.
APPLY ONLINE
During the application period, apply online at https://www.gdeadmissions.gov.za. You will need to select a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 schools.
Uploading and Verifying Documents
After applying, parents must upload all supporting documents on the GDE portal within 7 days. Schools will then verify the documents and update the application status online.

Parents will receive SMS updates regarding their application. You can also log into the GDE portal at any time to check your application status.
Waiting Lists
Once applications have been verified, schools submit their waiting lists to the District for approval. After approval, placement offers are sent to parents via SMS.
Placement offers
Parents may receive offers from more than one school, depending on available space. The system will notify parents once no further offers can be made. Please ensure that each offer is accepted within 7 days.

Once an offer is accepted online, the learner is placed at the school. Parents will then receive communication from the school with full enrolment details, including required documents, deposits, uniform information, and textbook requirements.

Fourways High School is a fee-paying school. Please see information below regarding fees, accounts etc.

Overdue Accounts
Please note that if December 2025 and January 2026 fees remain unpaid by 7 February 2025, your account will be 60 days overdue, and the Legal Collection process will be initiated.
Payment References
When making school fee payments, please use only the Student Number and Surname as your payment reference (e.g., #250000 Surname). Including additional details such as the grade or GDE reference may cause delays in allocating your payment correctly.
Student Number Information
- If you have multiple children at Fourways High School, please use the eldest child’s account number for all payments. This helps us reflect all siblings’ fees on one statement.
- If any siblings are missing from your statement, kindly contact Miss Rikwe at admissions@4ways.co.za to update your account.
