Dear Parents, Staff, and Students,

As we move into the final stretch of the academic year, I find myself reflecting on the remarkable spirit that defines our school community. The past few weeks have been filled with moments of celebration, challenge, and profound learning. I wish to share a few key messages with you.

A New Chapter in Leadership

On 18 August, we formally inducted our Student Council for the 2027 academic year. To our parents who joined us for this special assembly, thank you for your presence and unwavering support. Your encouragement is the bedrock upon which our young leaders build their confidence.

To our newly elected Councillors—representing Grade 8 through to Grade 11—congratulations. You have been chosen by your peers not by chance, but by choice and trust. Remember this: your title is not a crown; it is a towel. You have been called to servant leadership. Lead with humility, listen before you speak, and act always for the good of others.

To the outgoing Council, we extend our sincere gratitude. You have left footprints of integrity, initiative, and school spirit that will not be forgotten.

And to every student who participated in the democratic process—whether your candidate won or not—I commend you. Democracy is a sacred trust. Continue to vote with your conscience, not convenience. Your voice matters.

Excellence Beyond the Classroom

At our assembly on 25 August, we celebrated the incredible achievements of students excelling in extra-murals—our sports teams, cultural activities, and the unsung heroes of service activities. Your grit, creativity, and dedication have made us proud.

But I also shared a truth that I believe every student needs to hear: Success is boring. We see the highlight reels—the winning goals, the standing ovations—but what we don’t see are the early mornings, the repetitive drills, the late nights of rehearsal. The mundane grind is where excellence is forged.

I challenge every student: Fall in love with the boring. Whether it is mastering a subject, perfecting an instrument, or simply being a good friend, embrace the unglamorous work. Consistency will always outlast talent. Keep showing up.

Preparing for the Final Stretch

To our Grade 12 students currently writing their prelims and preparing for final examinations—you are in our thoughts and prayers. This is your moment. Stay focused, stay disciplined, and remember that every hour of preparation is an investment in your future.

To all students from Grade 8 to 11: the end-of-year examinations are approaching in the next term. Now is the time to begin preparing. Do not wait until the last moment. Develop a study routine, seek help where needed, and commit to the “boring” work of consistent revision. Your future self will thank you.
