    Senior Prizegiving

    We celebrated a night of outstanding achievements at our junior and senior prizegivings in February! Congratulations to our exceptional students for their dedication and success in academics, sports, and culture. We were particularly thrilled to honour our white blazer recipients. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to our dedicated staff members who received well-deserved long service awards.

    Track and Field

    Our track and field athletes have been on fire this month! The excitement was palpable at the Gauteng trials, where both Madison-Lee Butzer and Zammy Moyo powered through the semi-finals to compete in the finals. A massive round of applause for Madison-Lee, who took home a brilliant second place and will now represent Gauteng at the SA Championships in Bloemfontein! We’re so proud of both athletes and the entire team.

    Interhigh Gala

    Our swimmers showed remarkable dedication and progress at the Inter High Gala. We are so proud of everyone who took part. A special congratulations to Timieke Smith, Cole Correia, and Ashleigh Sharp for qualifying for Prestige! This is a reflection of their hard work and commitment. “Growth is a journey…” and we are inspired by the progress of all of our athletes.

    Volleyball – Goliath Cup Finals

    What an incredible day of volleyball at the Goliath Cup final on our home ground! Our teams displayed exceptional determination and skill, making us incredibly proud. A special shoutout to our U19 Girls A team for their outstanding 3rd place finish!

    Here are the final results:

    • U19 Girls A: 3rd place
    • U14 Girls A: 5th place
    • U14 Girls B: 7th place
    • U19 Boys A: 4th place
    • U16 Boys: 7th place
    • U14 Boys A: 4th place

    FHS Annual Volleyball Tournament

    We welcomed 104 teams from 27 schools, creating a fantastic atmosphere of competition and camaraderie.

    We were incredibly proud to witness our players’ unwavering heart and determination throughout the tournament. A huge thank you to every staff member and learner who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and on the front lines to make this event a success. We also deeply appreciate the overwhelming support from our learners, families, and friends who cheered on our teams!

    • Our U16 A-team Girls fought hard and secured a commendable 4th place.
    • Our U14 A-team Girls delivered a stellar performance, earning a well-deserved 3rd place and bringing home the Bronze medal!
    • Our U14 A-team Boys also showcased their skills, achieving 3rd place and claiming another Bronze medal!

    Congratulations to all our teams for their outstanding efforts!

    Speech and Drama College Competition

    • Congratulations to the public speaking teams who competed at the recent Speech and Drama College Annual Competition! Our students truly shone, demonstrating their talent and dedication.
    • Our Trophy Team, consisting of Liqhawe Baduza, Jessica Nanguia, and Bonolo Zulu, delivered an outstanding performance, earning a well-deserved A! Their teamwork and skill were truly impressive.
    • A huge congratulations to Mahlohonolo Dhlamini, who also achieved an A for her exceptional individual speaking performance.
      Our Open Team, featuring Naomi Cordeiro, Kimberly Van Schalkwyk, Masego Selamolela, and Parinaz Saghafi, demonstrated their talent and hard work, receiving a solid B. Well done to the team!

    Powerlifting

    Congratulations to Mark Forget, who achieved first place in his recent Powerlifting competition! This outstanding performance has earned him a spot in the team selection for the SA Championships, which will be held in March. We wish Mark the best of luck!
