    In Memorium

It is with a heavy heart that we share some tragic news with you. Our school community has suffered a profound loss.
Augusta Madu, a Grade 9 student, passed away on Wednesday night. We ask that you keep her family, friends, and all who loved her in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
In honour of Augusta, let us come together as a school family—supporting one another with compassion and strength.

    Message from the Principal

    Dear Parents, Staff, and Students,

As we come to the close of another successful term, I would like to take a moment to reflect on our achievements—both academically and extramurally. Our students have shown tremendous dedication in their studies, with many achieving outstanding results. I commend each of you for your hard work and commitment to excellence.

Beyond the classroom, we have seen increased involvement in sports, cultural activities, and clubs, fostering a strong sense of community and school spirit. Well done to all who participated, represented our school with pride, and contributed to our vibrant extracurricular programme.

I am also pleased to note the improved adherence to our dress and appearance code. Demonstrating pride in our school through neat and correct uniform is essential, and we will continue to uphold these standards. A reminder that students involved in after-school activities must wear school-branded items if a change of clothing is required. Match kit must be strictly followed, and spectators at any fixtures are expected to attend in full school uniform.

As we prepare for Terms 2 and 3, please note that winter uniform applies. Blazers and ties are required for assemblies, school scarves may be worn, and beanies may be worn outdoors. Girls must wear stockings or the long navy socks with skirts. Girls are also reminded to always wear navy socks when wearing the navy pants.

Safety Reminder: We urge students to avoid walking in the streets with headphones, earphones, or devices in hand, as this increases vulnerability to accidents and criminal activity. These items should not be used at school and are best left at home.

Our efforts to reduce loitering at the school gate have been very successful, and we will continue refining these processes to minimise inconvenience while ensuring student safety. Parents, please ensure your child is collected promptly after their last activity.

Thank you to all parents who have made a concerted effort to improve punctuality—late arrivals have declined significantly. As we approach Term 2, I remind you that the first few weeks consist of short weeks, yet full attendance remains critical. Every school day counts, and unnecessary absences should be avoided.

Term 2 promises to be an exciting and busy term! Winter sports will be in full swing, with weekend fixtures and two thrilling derby days taking place on Friday afternoons/evenings. Our highly anticipated major production, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, will take the stage in May—don’t miss it!

Academically, Term 2 is critically important, and the mid-year exams will be a key focus. Students must prepare thoroughly by doing all homework, assignments, revision and studying well in advance to ensure success.

Finally, I wish our parents, staff, and students a well-deserved short break. Rest, recharge, and return ready for another productive term.

    With warm regards,

    Andrew Holliday
