Kamanika Soobramoney

Modelling for 5 years. Placed 3rd in South Africa at the Figures Model of the year competition 2020.I have been in the top 10 in SA for the past 4 years. Participated at Project AIM 2022 Internation convention with over 30 International agents in attendance. Placed in the top 3 for 6 out of 7 competitions I competed. Receive a contractual to model Milk Management in the UK. Qualified Modelling instructor and actively training FIgures Bryanston since 2022.

Megan Hunt

Modelling for 6 years Miss Pizazz, 2nd runner-up at Bryanston High School 2018 Miss Pizazz Winner at Bryanston High School in 2019 Qualified instructor for figures Bryanston branch from 2019-2021 Figures International Model of the Year 2018 top 10 for Fashion division. Competed at the Figures International Model of the Year 2019, 2020 and 2021 top scorer for the teachers/ instructors category for all 3 years .

Tinyiko Mtetwa

Modelling for 8 years with Figures Bryanston branch. Miss Teenager Johannesburg finalist and I’m currently a Miss Teenager South Africa finalist. Competed in six Figures international model of the year and six national model of the year competitions. Completed over 30 ramp shows with Figures Bryanston branch. Recently completed the Converse fashion show launch. Participated at Project AIM Convention 2021 with over 30 International agency and received call backs from agents in China and Paris Actively teaching at Figures Bryanston branch.

Gina Tim

Modeling for 2 years. Won the International Student Model of the year competition in 2023. Placed 2nd at the 2024 Figures International Model of the year competition. Attended the project AIM convention 2024 and received the most call backs (9 from International Agents). Placed 3rd for Television beauty at project AIM. Waiting to finish studies at the end of 2024 then joining ESSE model management with an International modelling contract.

Kwesha Mwelwa

Modeling for 2 years. Qualified Modelling Instructor actively teaching at Figures Bryanston. Actively working in the Figures Modelling Agency as a booker placing talent in TV Commercials, Fashion shows and Photo shoots. Represented Figures Bryanston at the International Student Model of the Year competition in 2023.

Ryan Vaughn

Owner of Figures Bryanston and Midrand branches. Trained over 8000 models since 1992. Head booker for Figures Modelling agency South Africa. Placed thousands of models in various commercials for brands like Tiger Brands, Nedbank, Wimpy, Sissy boy, to name a few. Placed many South African models with various International agencies worldwide for over 32 years.

About the Competition

At Fourways High School, the Mr and Miss Fourways competition is a prestigious event that serves as a platform to promote leadership, community engagement, and personal growth among our students. It embodies the core values of integrity, excellence, respect, diversity, and community, aligning with the broader goals of national competitions like Mr. and Miss South Africa.

Purpose

The purpose of the Mr and Miss Fourways competition is to:

  1. Promote Positive Role Models:
    • To find learners who exemplify qualities such as integrity, leadership, and commitment to community service, providing role models for their peers and younger learners.
  2. Encourage Personal and Professional Growth:
    • Offer opportunities for contestants to develop their public speaking, leadership, and personal branding skills, supporting their future academic and career endeavours.
  3. Support Charitable Causes:
    • Engage students in community service and charitable activities, raising awareness and funds for important social issues, and fostering a sense of social responsibility.
  4. Celebrate Cultural Diversity:
    • Reflect and celebrate the rich cultural diversity within our school community, promoting unity and understanding among students through shared cultural experiences.
  5. Empowerment and Advocacy:
    • Empower contestants to use their platform to advocate for social issues and drive positive change within the school and the broader community.
  • Integrity: Participants are expected to conduct themselves with honesty and fairness, representing the high moral standards of Fourways High School.
  • Excellence: We celebrate the pursuit of excellence in all endeavours, encouraging students to strive for their best academically and extramurally and recognise the achievements of their peers.
  • Respect: Respect for oneself, others, and the school community is fundamental. Participants are to demonstrate empathy, kindness, and consideration in their interactions.
  • Community: The competition promotes a sense of belonging and unity, encouraging students to work together and support each other in their individual and collective journeys at Fourways High School.

By integrating these purposes and values, the Mr and Miss Fourways competition aims to create a comprehensive platform where students can SHINE, LEARN, AND GROW.

This event not only celebrates the unique talents and achievements of our learners but also prepares them to become inspirational leaders and responsible citizens, mirroring the esteemed objectives of national competitions like Mr. and Miss South Africa.

 

The learners of Fourways High School were invited to enter for the competition by telling us a little about themselves and adding a headshot of their choice. The school were then provided of te opportunity to vote for those that they would like to participate in this competition. The top voting scores were used to determine the 40 contestants for this competition.

The newly crowned Mr. and Miss Fourways are empowered to make a positive impact on the school community. They are encouraged to engage in service initiatives, foster school spirit, and actively participate in, and assist at school events such as prize-giving ceremonies and derby days. As leaders and role models, they are expected to contribute to the overall growth and development of the school, inspiring their peers and leaving a lasting legacy.
