At Fourways High School, the Mr and Miss Fourways competition is a prestigious event that serves as a platform to promote leadership, community engagement, and personal growth among our students. It embodies the core values of integrity, excellence, respect, diversity, and community, aligning with the broader goals of national competitions like Mr. and Miss South Africa.
Purpose
The purpose of the Mr and Miss Fourways competition is to:
- Promote Positive Role Models:
- To find learners who exemplify qualities such as integrity, leadership, and commitment to community service, providing role models for their peers and younger learners.
- Encourage Personal and Professional Growth:
- Offer opportunities for contestants to develop their public speaking, leadership, and personal branding skills, supporting their future academic and career endeavours.
- Support Charitable Causes:
- Engage students in community service and charitable activities, raising awareness and funds for important social issues, and fostering a sense of social responsibility.
- Celebrate Cultural Diversity:
- Reflect and celebrate the rich cultural diversity within our school community, promoting unity and understanding among students through shared cultural experiences.
- Empowerment and Advocacy:
- Empower contestants to use their platform to advocate for social issues and drive positive change within the school and the broader community.

This event not only celebrates the unique talents and achievements of our learners but also prepares them to become inspirational leaders and responsible citizens, mirroring the esteemed objectives of national competitions like Mr. and Miss South Africa.
Contestants
The learners of Fourways High School were invited to enter for the competition by telling us a little about themselves and adding a headshot of their choice. The school were then provided of te opportunity to vote for those that they would like to participate in this competition. The top voting scores were used to determine the 40 contestants for this competition.
What happens to the winners?
The newly crowned Mr. and Miss Fourways are empowered to make a positive impact on the school community. They are encouraged to engage in service initiatives, foster school spirit, and actively participate in, and assist at school events such as prize-giving ceremonies and derby days. As leaders and role models, they are expected to contribute to the overall growth and development of the school, inspiring their peers and leaving a lasting legacy.
