From the Principal's Desk
As we close the curtain on another busy term, I’d like to take this opportunity to reflect on some of the highlights and offer some important reminders.
Mid-Year Exams & Setting Goals:
The recently completed mid-year exams were a chance for students to gauge their progress. Remember, even if the results aren’t what you hoped for, don’t be discouraged! Consistency is key. Keep working hard throughout the year, and focus on exceeding a simple pass. A minimum mark of 50% is a great target to aim for, as this establishes a strong foundation for achieving a Bachelor Pass at Grade 12 level.
A Round of Applause!
Our recent production of “Sister Act – The Musical” was a resounding success! The amazing reviews received truly make us proud. A huge thank you and congratulations go to all the staff and students who contributed their time and talent to make this such a spectacular performance.
Sporting Success & The Derby Spirit:
This term has been a whirlwind of sporting activity! Our Cross-Country, Hockey, Netball, and Rugby teams all delivered some fantastic results. Coaches and players, well done, and thank you for your dedication!
The Derby against Bryanston High was a day filled with friendly rivalry and excellent sportsmanship. While wins were shared, the true victory lies in supporting a great cause. Thanks to everyone involved, we’ve raised over R22 000.00 for SA Guide Dogs through Rivals Unite, a figure that’s expected to grow even higher!
Service Makes a Difference
A special thank you to all the students who have given their time to various service activities throughout the term. This includes our dedicated First Aid team, talented Journalism and Photography students, and the hardworking Sound team. Your contributions are invaluable to the smooth operation and spirit of our school.
Discipline & Consistent Support
My sincere thanks to Miss Skillicorn and all the staff who work tirelessly to maintain a positive learning environment. We take misconduct seriously and intervene efficiently to ensure a positive and safe atmosphere for all. We appreciate the support of parents who share our commitment to student discipline and uphold the principles of our Code of Conduct.
A Smart Start to the Next Term
As a final reminder, please ensure all students adhere to the school’s appearance code on the first day of the new term.
Time to Relax!
Most importantly, I encourage everyone to enjoy a well-deserved break! Recharge, refresh, and come back ready for a productive new term.
Thank you, and have a wonderful holiday!
General News and Happenings
Comrades Marathon 2024
We are very proud of Mrs Frances Webster, who ran her first Comrades marathon and achieved a time of 11h1m50s.
Congratulations Mrs Webster! No more cold early mornings getting in those training runs for a while …
Springbok Scout Award
Congratulations to Kyle Hardie, Grade 12, who has just achieved his Springbok Award at Scouts. This is the highest achievement that a Scout can ever achieve, and only about 1% of Scouts ever achieve it.
Kyle has now achieved his Bushman’s thong, Service Cord and Springbok Award at 1st Fourways Scouts troop.
Well done Kyle!
D6 Communicator
We would like to encourage all parents and students to download the D6 Communicator on their mobile devices, to stay up to date with school news.
Fourways High School will be using this app increasingly throughout the year, to provide instant communication with parents on important information.
To download, please go to the app store of your choice (below).

FHS-Bryanston Derby Day, 25 May 2024
The Fourways High and Bryanston High Derby Day on the 25th of May was a resounding success! Supporter turnout was excellent, and the sports teams displayed both pride and integrity throughout the day. Our mascots, Harry the Hoopoe and Echo the Wolf, were in top form, leading their respective spirit teams in enthusiastic cheers.
On the sidelines, our cheerleaders put on a fantastic show to entertain the crowd before the first team rugby match. And of course, the presence of the SA Guide Dogs Association, with their adorable puppies in training, was a huge draw for attendees of all ages. Many students enjoyed interacting with the puppies and learning more about the association’s work.
Thank you to all involved for making Derby Day such a memorable event!
